Valerie Anne Bertinelli, an American writer and actress. She has been a twice Golden Globe Award recipient. The roles she played in CBS One Day at A Time's Barbara, and Hot in Cleveland's Melanie Moretti made her a famous household name. Her acting career began as an early teenager, and through the years, became an established character actress. She developed a passion for showbusiness through her connection with the daughter of a television producer when she was a little girl. Bertinelli began her career in the TV industry as a teenager after graduating from the Tami Lynn School of Artists. Her poise, confidence and acting abilities, she managed to establish a name for herself soon and became a much sought-after television personality. Her rocky personal life was widely known, as were her battles with substance abuse and various difficulties. Yet, she fought tirelessly to overcome these and to reclaim her living. The public is familiar with her people through her New York Times best-selling books where she narrates her experiences during difficult periods of her life. Her current work is hosting her cooking program Kids Baking Championship. This chubby teenager turned sexual symbol has also been associated to her Jenny Craig weight-loss program and is a spokesperson for the program.
